Raise Funds for Fulton’s Secret Santa
Hey NKBPA, this is one of our favorite meetings, so mark your calendar now for the 2nd Friday of the month (November 10th) at 7:45 am at Fulton High.
The next NKBPA meeting on Veterans Day, November 10th will be an auction to raise funds for Fulton’s Secret Santa program. The program gives Christmas to kids who otherwise don’t have anything for Christmas. If you have items to donate for the auction please email nk********@gm***.com. If you don’t have any items to auction, please come to the meeting with $$$$$$.
One of our auction items this year! Lots more great items to come, so don’t miss this meeting!
If you can’t attend, please make a donation. Donations can be made by mailing a check to NKBPA Attn: Secret Santa, PO BOX 27479, Knoxville, TN 37927-7479, or by making your donation by selecting the donation option here as you would register for a ticket.

We are also taking recommendations and nominations for the 2023 board that will be voted on in December. If you would like to be active on our board or know someone who would be great please let us know at nkbpa.info@gmail.com.

OCTOBER 20th Meeting on Homelessness at St John’s Lutheran Church

Our next meeting will be a panel discussion about homelessness in our area. The meeting is brought to us by the Volunteer Ministry Center and will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall across the street from VMC at 544 N. Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37917.
Our panel speakers will be:
- Nate First with the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) will talk about stats and share the community dashboard that anyone can access at any time for quarterly stats on homelessness in Knoxville.
- Rosie Cross of Volunteer Ministry Center (VMC) and Jonathan Johnson of Knox County Health Department (KCHD) will talk about their work to develop the Regional Outreach Collaborative – Knox (ROCK) to provide coordinated, interagency outreach to unsheltered people in Knoxville/Knox County.
- Erin Read the Executive Director, the Knoxville-Knox County Office of Housing Stability will talk about the lack of housing and the role of her office.
We look forward to seeing everyone. This will be a very informative meeting!

August Meeting at the City of Knoxville Safety Complex
Our next meeting will be at City Court in the new City of Knoxville Safety Complex. Park in the City Court Parking Lot. There will also be a sign on Huron to help direct folks. Our breakfast sponsor is the City of Knoxville. Judge Rossen will be our host, Mayor Kincannon, and David Brace, Chief Operating Office and Deputy to the Mayor will our speakers. The meeting will end a bit early at 8:50 am so they can prepare for court at 9 am. We can continue to gather and network in the lobby area.

July 14th Meeting at Oakwood-Lincoln Park Clubhouse with Chris Battle

Join us at Oakwood Lincoln Park Clubhouse at 916 Shamrock Ave, TN 37917 on July 14th. The breakfast and networking from 7:45 to 8 am. The meeting begins at 8 and adjourns at 9 am. There is a lot between the clubhouse and the school that is available for parking. Our speaker will be Chris Battle of Battlefield Farms. Fighting Food InsecurityCreating Community The BattleField Farm story began in the Spring of 2018. Pastor Chris Battle started a Community Garden on the property of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN. He will talk to us about what he has learned about food disparity and food deserts. Don’t forget to pay your membership dues! Please register to attend as space is limited and we need an accurate headcount for breakfast. |

It’s not to late to register for our first EVER CORN HOLE TOURNAMENT on July 28th! Bring your A-game and have some fun at YeeHaw Brewing, 745 N. Broadway. This tournament raises money for Fulton High and our local nonprofits. $50 per 2-person Team$100 Sponsor a Cornhole board and get your business noticed on our website and social media.
