About Us
In June 2003, six interested individuals met at the Shoney’s Restaurant on North Broadway to discuss the need for an organization for businesses and professionals in the North Knoxville area. All six agreed that it was time for this to happen and a letter was composed to invite local businesses and professional people to a meeting that was held two weeks later at the Fulton High School Library.
The turn out was good and the interest high enough to give this idea a try. Another letter was sent and the second meeting, held the following month at the FHS Library, was even larger.
The goal of this organization is to help our area be more recognized, have businesses more informed of the activities and events going on in the community, to pool our resources together and help out in this part of Knoxville, and be able to organize when there is a need to fight for the rights of our community.
We have been a Business & Professional Association since 2003 and have held meetings in over thirty different locations within the North Knoxville area. We meet on the second Friday of every month at 7:45 a.m. at different locations. Breakfast is available and the program begins at 8:00 a.m.
We publish updates on social media and send emails to inform everyone where the next meeting will be and who will be speaking. We have chosen not to establish a permanent meeting place because of all of the interesting places that we get to see when our members volunteer their facilities to show-off their places of business.
